Staying up to date with ever-advancing dental technology can be a recurring investment of time and money into training and equipment. These investments allow in advanced technology allow for better prevention, earlier cancer screenings, faster and more comfortable treatment, and more lifelike dental restorations, such as dentures, bridges, and crowns. With the aid of digital technology and computers, dental restorations can be made to precisely replicate natural teeth for a near seamless replacement. Technologies like Vita Easyshade® and E4D PlanScan technology can both be used to help restore a smile to look natural and beautiful.
When it comes to creating a dental prosthetic, it is absolutely essential that the creation match the size, shape, and placement of the dental restoration to your mouth’s specifications. Computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) can be used in creating a precise dental prosthetic to fit your smile perfectly. Using E4D PlanScan technology can provide an extremely detailed scan of your tooth, bite, and mouth to be sent directly to a manufacturing computer. Once sent to the computer, the digitally scanned impressions and measurements will be used to sculpt and create a perfect restoration. The use of this technology is what allows for a dental crown to be created in just one day.
Every person has different color or shade of teeth. Even a single person can have multiple shades of colors on multiple teeth within one smile. Vita Easyshade® is a tool that allows for the exact shade of a tooth to be measured. The device can precision scan a tooth under any lighting and communicates the shade to a computer. A prosthetic can be crafted to match the exact color needed to restore or replace the tooth based off of the captured shade information. Vita Easyshade® can then verify the shade of the prosthetic after it is crafted to make sure that it matches the rest of the smile.
