This weekend, tens of thousands of pop culture fans will converge on the Austin Convention Center for the Wizard World Comic Con Austin. The event will take place over three days. The convention will be a great way to meet fan favorites of celebrities, artists, game creators, superheroes, and more. There is a long list of celebrities that will be in Austin for the convention. Jason Momoa from the upcoming “Justice League” movie will be there, along with Val Kilmer from “Batman Forever,” “Top Gun,” and “Tombstone.” Kate Beckinsale (“Underworld”), Jon Heder (“Napolean Dynamite”), and Charisma Carpenter (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) are also all scheduled to attend the Comic Con. There will be a Q&A panel with actors and actresses from the cult-classic television show, “Firefly.”
Along with other Q&A panels, there will fan-based panels on various subjects ranging from podcasts to Harry Potter to comic books. There will family-friendly entertainment appropriate for children throughout the weekend as well, including storytimes, face painting, dance parties, puppet shows, magic shows, drawing lessons, and more. Kids under the age of ten can get in for free with a paid adult ticket. There will also be an Adult Costume Contest and a Kids Costume Contest. Adults will have the ability to sign up for workshops, too. For example, a Mold Making and Resin Casting workshop will be available for those interested in those types of costumes.
