New Year’s Eve is an exciting time. It’s a time to look back on what happened the past twelve months; all the things we accomplished, the huge events we witnessed, and the people we shared it all with. It’s also a time to look forward, to refresh ourselves and start a new year with a clean slate. The possibilities for what 2017 can be are endless. Austin’s New Year will be celebrating the New Year and its possibilities at Vic Mathias Shores starting December 31st at 3pm.
This New Year’s Eve event, which is hosted by the City of Austin, will be the biggest event yet. It will feature four stages, 22 local and regional bands, food trucks, kid’s activities and a number of art installations.
The co-headliners for the event are American country-soul, swamp funk band Shinyribs, who, along with legendary Texas singer-songwriter Ray Wylie Hubbard, will be featured on the Lake Stage to help rock in the New Year!
If your family is more in the mood for dancing, you can also catch CAPYAC, who will be headlining at the Oak stage and are sure to get you and your family grooving until the ultimate finale. At 10pm, you’ll be able to take in the beautiful sights and sounds of an epic fireworks extravaganza. It will be an event you don’t want to miss!
