Movies in the Park are free movies put on in parks presented by the Austin Parks Foundation and Alamo Drafthouse. This year is the 25th Anniversary, and to celebrate, all the films screened are from the year 1992. The movies selected are family-friendly and shown in various parks all across the city of Austin. Bring the whole family, including the dog as long as they are on a leash! Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs to set up your own comfortable area. Food is welcome, if you want to picnic while you watch a movie. Just remember that alcoholic beverages, glass, styrofoam, and smoking are not allowed within the park. Recycling bins are available, but please take your trash with you when you leave. The movies start at 8:00 P.M., just in time for you and your family to enjoy a nice, fun evening under the stars. The 1992 series of movies include, Death Becomes Her on October 19th, Hocus Pocus on October 26th, and Muppet Christmas Carol on November 16th. Previous movies in the series included Wayne’s World, Aladdin, Mighty Ducks, Sister Act, and Ferngully. This week’s feature, Death Becomes Her, is a dark comedy starring Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis. The movie is rated PG-13, so parental guidance is recommended for children under 13 years old.
