This Saturday, April 7th, visit the George Washington Carver Museum for free! First Saturday is a fun, family-friendly event at the Carver that includes diverse and intelligent educational activities, music, vendors, open discussions, and more. The First Saturday event is held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and is open to visitors of all ages, and celebrates a wide range of themes each month.

About the Museum

First Saturday is a great introduction for many visitors to the George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural, and Genealogy Center. Since opening its doors in 2005, the Carver’s mission has been to preserve, research, and exhibit the history of African American families’ impact on the cultural and economic development of Central Texas. The Center’s collection, which is fully available during every First Saturday, includes an archive of over 15,000 items that span nearly every industry and art form.
