Opening this weekend is Disney’s newest film A Wrinkle in Time, based on the classic sci-fi/fantasy novel by Madeleine L’Engle with an amazing cast featuring Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine and directed by Ava DuVernay. The film will open at theaters on March 9th. Austin families can the fun and excitement of opening weekend at one of Alamo Drafthouse’s fun Family Parties. Each Family Party at the Drafthouse, families can participate in themed crafts and hands-on activities before the movie screening. A Wrinkle in Time follows the story of a young Meg Murry, her brother, and her friend on their journey to find her father, who is a missing scientist. Meg learns that her father is being held captive across the galaxy by a multidimensional force of evil. To get him back, the children team up with three mysterious astral voyagers to travel across space and time. The Alamo Drafthouse location at Mueller is also hosting A Wrinkle in Time science fair-style event on Friday, March 16. The STEM fair will be hosted by Thinkery and the Tinkering School and Women in Engineering Program at UT Austin. Tickets to the Family Party can be bought online in advance.

There will be two parties at different locations, Slaughter Lane on March 10th at 9:25 a.m. and the Lakeline location on March 11th at 9:30 a.m.
