The kids are back in school, but that does not mean the family fun needs to stop. If you are looking for something fun to do with the family that is inside the cool air conditioning, Night Builders, the Family Lego Lab at the Austin Public Library may be for you. Family Lego building focuses on cooperation and teamwork. The Legos are provided by the library, but you and your family bring the imagination. Building Legos with your children inspires creative thinking, which can lead to increased skills in problem-solving. Later in life, these types of skills can be quite valuable. Creating together as a family nurtures that ‘what if?’ part of your brains. That ‘what if?’ imagination can shut off as we get older, but playtime can help it stay lit. The Night Builders: Family Lego Lab happens the 4th Thursday of every month. It is recommended for children over the age of 5. No reservations or tickets are required to attend the event.
