Austin is still a fairly young city relative to the thousands of years of human history. Despite that, it is home to many different people from various cultures. One of the cultures held dear is the people of Brazil. Bring the family to the Palmer Events Center on February 25 and participate in one of the largest Brazilian Carnaval celebrations outside of Brazil. There will be Brazilian music, dancing, and costumes on display to honor and celebrate a rich, storied heritage.

Celebrate In Style

This celebration is derived from the Carnaval in Brazil, which was basically like Mardi Gras for the people of medieval times just before Lent. There will be wild, bright costumes, and the music of Carnaval such as Samba, March, Frevo, Trio Eletrico, and Batucada (drumming). Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. For $25 more, you can enjoy the Samba Circle Lounge, a VIP lounge that will allow you to enjoy the festivities in a more private manner. The Palmer Events Center is located at 900 Barton Springs Road. For more information call 512-472-5111.
