The Blue Genie Art Bazaar (BGAB) is an annual four-week holiday shopping event featuring unique, handmade artwork, jewelry, and gifts from approximately 200 regional and local Austin artists. This year is the 17th year of this shopping event. Each year, the Bazaar opens on Black Friday and stays open daily through Christmas Eve. There is a centralized checkout to streamline your shopping experience. The artists of the Bazaar are selected through a rigorous jury process. They offer a wide variety of imaginative and beautiful gifts ranging from paintings, photography, prints, sculptures, jewelry, clothing, accessories, glassworks, ceramics, and more unique items that you cannot find at a mall. In addition to shopping from local artists, the Bazaar features a range of activities, live music, and refreshments. Self-parking and admission is free. Valet parking is available on weekends and opening night for $5. Blue Genie Art Bazaar supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & South Texas via “Make-a-Wish Mondays” by donating 10% of profits from each Monday’s sales. The Blue Genie Art Bazaar started in 2001 when Blue Genie Art Industries, known for their large commercial sculpture like the Torchy’s Tacos baby devil and Mueller’s Loch Ness Monster hosted an employee-based art show in their studio. It grew into the large, unique event that it is today.
